Michigan Construction READY Going PRO Apprenticeship Readiness Program
Apply to the 6-week MC READY Heavy Highway Technician program TODAY!
The MC READY Heavy Highway Technician program is a 6-week, 240-hour hybrid heavy highway technician/heavy equipment operator program to four (4) individuals delivered by AIS Heavy Equipment Training Institute in Lansing, MI. Training is scheduled to start on July 30, 2018 and be completed on September 6, 2018.
As MC READY uses the NCCER platform, and AIS HETI is an approved NCCER training provider, upon completion of this training, participants will receive NCCER certification in Heavy Highway Technician Level 1 and Heavy Equipment Operator Level 2 in grader, backhoes, loaders, dozers and excavators.
This hybrid approach serves employers stated need that heavy highway equipment operators need to understand the specifics of working on heavy highway projects, rather than other types of construction projects that also use heavy equipment, i.e. landscaping, building foundations, concrete flatwork, snow removal.
The MC READY Going PRO program is a 6-month pre-apprenticeship training program will provide the opportunity for 26 people to begin their career working in Michigan’s construction industry.
